Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef as well as a former teacher of the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook will show you how to master easy techniques as well as her distinctive blonde spiky locks. Chef Burrell was also employed by several of the most prestigious restaurants that are located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stop for her following graduation with the Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Communication in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a fantastic learning experience for me. I couldn't learn or be a better cook than I did. Following graduation, Chef Burrell took a gap year to Italy attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a 1 Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Her time spent in Italy made her more aware and appreciate the Italian style of living and the culture which has had an impact on her eating habits. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists children with obstacles. Burrell travels extensively across the country as a mentor, and also a guest speaker where she discusses her career and love of cooking. Anne says during her time in the culinary field that she is incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to be able to share what's essential to her.
