Mary-Louise Parker

Mary-Louise Parker was born August 2 on the 2nd of August, 1964. She is an American actress. After making her Broadway debut as Rita in Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 (for which she won a Tony Award nomination), Parker became famous for her film roles in Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), Bullets over Broadway (1994), A Place for Annie (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), The Portrait of a Lady (1996) as well as The Maker (1997). Parker was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actress In the same Play in 2001 for her portrayal as Catherine Llewellyn, in David Auburn's Proof. In the NBC television show The West Wing she starred as Amy Gardner, and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sustained actress in a Drama Series. She received both the Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy Award for her portrayal of Harper Pitt in the acclaimed HBO miniseries Angels in America in 2003.Parker went on to enjoy large success as Nancy Botwin, the lead character of the TV series Weeds, which ran from 2005 to 2012, and for which she received three nominations to the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series between 2007 and 2009. She also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy in 2006.Her other film roles include the roles in The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008), Red (2010), R.I.P.D. (2013), and Red 2 (2012). Parker returned to Broadway in 2019 , to appear in The Sound Inside, for the second time, she won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. Parker has been writing articles for Esquire magazine since 2007. She also wrote Dear Mr. You in 2015. She appeared in the ABC miniseries"When We Rise, as Roma Guy. In 2018, she was on the show as a political consultant in the show Billions on Showtime.
