Deborah Rhea
Seehorn was born on May 12, 1972. She is best known for playing attorney Kim
Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), for which she is two-time
winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress for a series,
Miniseries or Television Film. She also appeared on the NBC series Whitney
(2011-2013) as well as ABC's I'm with Her (2003-2004) and TNT's Franklin
& Bash (2011-2014). Deborah Rhea Seehorn was conceived in Norfolk,
Virginia on May 12, 1972. Her mother was the executive secretary of the United
States Navy, her father was an agent for the Naval Investigative Service. The
family lived in Washington, D.C., Arizona, Japan, and traveled extensively
throughout her youth. Following the footsteps of her grandfather and father who
were artists, she began studying painting, drawing and architectural design
from the age of a child. As she pursued her love of the visual arts, she
discovered a passion for acting. She was also introduced to modern theater in
college. In 1994 she graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of
Arts in Studio Art. Seehorn who was a student and was looking to enter theater
after being encouraged by her teacher in acting. She worked many ancillary
positions within the industry of theater in D.C. to try to be noticed. She
eventually got major performances in local theater however, she had for odd
jobs in order to pay the bills She was also cast in a variety of short
industrial instructional films. Then, she began to be cast in TV productions.
She often played roles that were "very humorous and funny" similar to
her role model Bea Arthur. These roles were usually cancelled after a couple of
seasons. In the month of May, 2014, Seehorn was cast in the Breaking Bad spin-off
prequel series Better Call Saul. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler (a lawyer) and is
the love interest of the titular Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman.
